Jacket and Coat

Coat is a lengthy coat (at slightest mid-calf) designed to be tatty as the outermost suit garment; while this use is still maintain in various places, in others the word  coat  is used to wrap this meaning as well. A topcoat is a somewhat shorter overcoat, if any difference is to be made.

The term jacket is often used to refer to a shorter, hip length piece of clothing, but by meeting all formalwear is wornout with a coat, so some conventional tailors still name the top half of a stroller as well as dinner jacket a men’s coat.
